MU Blockchain: Semester Plans
Miami University Blockchain has been using the virtual environment to host new events and hold opportunities to grow within the blockchain world. During the Spring 2020 semester, we successfully hosted our Virtual Blockchain Conference. Since organizations are all virtual for the duration of the Fall 2020 semester as well we have decided to continue using virtual conferencing services for our events. With that being said we have an exciting semester planned with workshops and our second annual blockathon!
So far this semester we have hosted information sessions and cohosted our first workshop with Truffle that focused on building and deploying a supply chain decentralized application. The workshops that we will be offering this semester cover the topics of: Truffle, crypto bull market, supply chain, automating compliance, financial auditing, mail fraud solution, scaling, zero-knowledge proofs, and more! We will be hosting our workshops and events every Wednesday at 6! Our event schedule with more details about each of our workshops and events can be found at our website.
All of our events this semester will be really helpful in preparing individuals for our Blockathon beginning on December 9th. The Blockathon is a hackathon where students create a blockchain business pitch along with a proof of concept. It will also be an awesome chance to network with professionals and peers in the blockchain space. The event will last until December 20th, allowing participants a window to prepare their projects. We are also offering over $1000 in prize money for the winning teams! Ideally, this prize money can be used to further the winner’s ideas and put into action. We will be releasing more details about the event as the date approaches.
We are looking forward to an exciting semester!!
